The children of grade 10 from Shiv Nadar School, Gurugram in collaboration with DLF Foundation have taken up a mission to set-up a system to provide food to 400+ people abandoned by their families. These people are housed by The Earth Saviors Foundation in Gurukul, Bandhwari.
A month week-long drive is planned at Cyber Hub and all the commercial buildings of DLF where carton boxes will be placed and people can donate non-perishable items ranging from rice, wheat, pulses etc. Such boxes have already been placed at DLF Phase 3 and Nirvana Courtyard sector 50, to begin with, and going forward the team plans to spread the initiative to entire Gurugram.
“According to statistics, 15.2% of India’s population has no access to nutritious food and is facing a severe health crisis. Through this food donation drive, we aim to contribute our bit and feed as many people as we can. I urge people to come forward and donate whatever they can”, said Rishabh Malik, a student who is part of the group
“This is an amazing initiative by the students and we are in full support of this as it also helps us to achieve the SDG – “Food for all”, said ED, DLF Foundation.
The initiative is a brainchild of 4 children of Shiv Nadar School, Gurgaon. Rishabh Malik, Gariman Sharma , Shreya Gupta, Kabir Singh
