DLF Gardencity’s kids’ don chef’s hat on Mother’s Day

DLF Gardencity’s kids took to delighting their moms by stepping into their shoes and preparing scrumptious dishes for them on the occasion of Mother’s Day. Titled as ‘Junior Masterchefs’, the initiative was organized for 7- to 16- year old kids at The Skycourt, DLF Gardencity, Gurugram. The kids also got the opportunity to attend a culinary workshop by celebrity chef Noah Barnes of Arriba, Tabula Beach Café.
The first phase of the activity witnessed crowdsourcing of recipes from kids as they sent their entries via mail. Subsequently, four kids with best recipes were invited amongst all others in DLF Gardencity for a live cooking session and awarded a gift hamper each.
“Mothers are an epitome of compassion and sacrifice. This event forms a part of our efforts to honor mothers for their valuable contribution and make them feel special. It is heartening to note that the activity witnessed an overwhelming response from kids,” said Col Tejbir Singh, AVP (Township), DLF Gardencity.
13-year old Gunjan Sathpathy who prepared mayonnaise sandwiches, chatpata chana chat with mint-lemon-ginger juice, said: “It was wonderful to don the hat of a chef and prepare dishes which my mom is so fond of. I would like to thank DLF Gardencity for organizing this fun-filled activity.”
Among other recipes that made to the final round were bhel puri with papdi chat, coconut ladoo and a mango shake prepared by Lavanya, poha with roasted peanuts prepared by Aarav Arora and Virgin Maluja’s summer sponge cake.
“Mothers make great sacrifices for their children and Mother’s Day is a suitable occasion to recognize their contribution in our lives. It was a thrilling experience to cook for my mother and I am glad she liked it,” said Lavanya, another kid and a resident of DLF Gardencity.
