The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is a national level entrance exam conducted by CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) twice a year. It provides admission to candidates in MBBS/BDS courses in various private and government medical colleges in India. MBBS NEET is scheduled to be conducted on May 06, 2018 and the final results are expected to be released on June 05, 2018.

Ques. How to apply for the exam?
Ans. All the aspirants can apply online for the exam on the official website, i.e. cbseneet.nic.in.
Ques. What are the important dates for the exam?
Ans. The submission of on-line application forms commence from February 08, 2018 and all the aspirants can apply till March 09, 2018.
Ques. When can the students download their admit cards?
Ans. The admit cards for the exam will be released on the website in the 2nd week of April 2018.
Ques. Who can apply for the exam?
Ans. All Indian Nationals, Non Resident Indians (NRIs), Oversees Citizen of India (OCIs), Persons with Indian Origin (PIOs) and Foreign Nationals are eligible to appear for the exam.
Ques. What is the qualification for applying to the exam?
Ans. Candidates qualifying class 12th or equivalent exam with Chemistry, Physics, Biology /Biotechnology including English as a compulsory subject are eligible to apply. The students appearing in class 12th can also apply for the exam.
Ques. What is the minimum and maximum age limit for applying to the exam?
Ans. The minimum age for a candidate to appear for the exam is 17 years and the maximum age limit is 25 years.
For Candidates of Unreserved Category (UR) – born on or between 07.05.1993 and 01.01.2002
For Candidates of SC/ST/OBC/PWD Category- born on or between 07.05.1988 and 01.01.2002
Ques. What is the Exam Pattern of NEET 2018?
Ans. The exam will consist 180 objective type questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology).The Physics and Chemistry section will consist of 45 questions each and the Biology section will consist of 90 questions.
The time duration for the exam will be 3 hours.
Ques. The exam will be conducted in how many regional languages?
Ans. The exam will be conducted in 11 regional languages – English, Hindi, Tamil, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Oriya, Urdu, Marathi and Telugu.
Ques. What is the marking scheme for NEET 2018 exam?
Ans. A candidate will be allotted 4 marks for each correct answer and there will be a deduction of 1 mark for each incorrect answer.
Ques. What is the number of attempts for the exam?
Ans. There is no cap on the number of attempts i.e. a candidate can appear any number of times for the exam.
Ques. What is Qualifying Criteria for the exam?
Ans. In order to be eligible for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses, a candidate will be required to obtain minimum marks at 50th percentile in the exam while for a candidate belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks will be at 40th percentile. The minimum marks for PWD candidates will be at 45th percentile for General category candidates and 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
Ques. What is meant by the 15% All-India quota seats?
Ans. These are the seats in government colleges which are filled through All-India centralized counselling.
Under this 15% All- India quota, there is a reservation criteria which is as follows-
15% seats are reserved for SC candidates and 7.5% seats for ST candidates.
In addition to this, 27% seats are reserved for non-creamy layer OBC candidates and 5% seats are reserved for the PWD candidates.
Ques. What is the procedure of counselling for the exam?
Ans. The counselling for NEET exam will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee of the Directorate General of Health Services and all the information regarding counselling will be available on Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) website (www.mcc.nic.in).
