KVIC Participants Brainstorm at Two day Workshop at MDI

MDI Gurugram, one of the leading B-schools in India, hosted a two-day workshop from Dec 5-6 for Chairman/ CEOs of State KVIBs and State Directors of KVIC in collaboration with Khadi & Village Industries Commission, Ministry of MSME – Govt of India. The workshop started with lamp lighting and floral tribute to Gandhi Ji by Shri. Giriraj Singh, current Minister of State (Independent Charge) for MSME, GOI.
MDI is always consciously contributing towards the economic development and conducting various training programmes of social importance. Taking these efforts further this workshop has been organized to facilitate the development of the vision plan keeping in mind the changing needs, preferences and attitudes of customers and markets in future. The two day workshop at MDI, Gurugram will enrich the participants on themes like use of digital marketing & social media platforms in Khadi Industry. The participants on second day will attend sessions on Yoga & Meditation, Motivation & work life balance.
The Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC) execute planning, promotion, organization and implementation of programs for the development of Khadi and other village industries in the rural areas in coordination with other agencies engaged in rural development. The broad objectives of KVIC are providing employment, producing saleable articles, creating self-reliance amongst the poor and building up of a strong rural community spirit.
Prof. C. P. Shrimali, Acting Director, MDI Gurugram welcomed the esteemed gathering and said “our emphasis should be on connectivity of villages with urban cities. He further added that the “two day workshop will help KVIC to strategies its future plan of action for next five years”.
Shri. Giriraj Singh current Minister of State (Independent Charge) for MSME, GOI shared that “in order to customize products and give preference to customer’s choice, we will have to train and develop our workforce to use latest multiple technologies”. He further thanked PM Narendra Modi, for promoting Khadi industry and its products worldwide.
Shri. Arun Kumar Panda, Secretary, MSME, GOI elucidated “As the scenario is changing the way we are thinking and functioning has to be aligned with system in order to expect different results. We have to change the opinion of common man that khadi can also be used as a fashionable product”.
Sharing his thoughts Shri. Vinai Kumar Saxena, Chairman KVIC said “it’s my privilege to be in MDI and a part of this two day workshop. Khadi sector is growing well, let’s work together to improve its visibility among citizens.”
Expressing her views Prof. Kirti Sharma, Programme Director, MDI said “This is a collaborative effort of Ministry of MSME, KVIC and MDI to make Khadi not just for Nation and fashion but ‘Khadi for transformation’. The importance of understanding the customer needs and marketing KVIC/KVIB products will be highlighted during the session discussions. The criticality of use of digital and social media in marketing KVIC/KVIB products will also be highlighted.
In this 2 day joint ‘Workshop’ of Chairmen and CEO’s of State KVIB’s and state directors of KVIC’s, the Khadi Vision Document-2022 and Village industries document vision – 2022 will be deliberated upon. The workshop was participated by 87 Khadi sector participants from different states.
