Free education for girls till PhD level in Punjab
Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has announced free education for girls from nursery to the PhD level in the state’s government institutions. The CM did the historic announcement while speaking in the Vidhan Sabha.
Besides this the government has also promised to provide free textbooks to all government school students, and to introduce pre-primary classes (nursery and LKG) in these schools from the next academic session.
Another good news from Punjab is the government’s decision to provide free Internet in 13,000 primary schools, and 48 government colleges in the state.
“ The state ministry’s prime focus is education, the government will take all possible measures to develop the education system in the state,” said the Chief Minister.
Students can also download online text books free of cost.
