World Hunger Day was special for Divya S Iyer IAS!
This is why the people of Kerala love the young and dynamic civil servant, Divya S Iyer IAS. The doctor- turned IAS officer, now the Sub collector of Thiruvananthapuram district, was in lime light for many of her socio-political interactions. Now she has been in news for celebrating world hunger day in a different way.
The energetic officer had spent 28th of May, World Hunger Day, with the homeless people in the street. Divya had lunch with orphans in the street. The sub collector, who is going to marry MLA Sabarinath, also handed over the first wedding invitation to them. The world hunger day, has made lots of differences in my life, said the sub collector.
The lunch was organised by Jwala, a charity organisation run by Ashwathy Jwala. The organisation looks after the people in streets and provides them food and shelter.
After completing her MBBS from CMC Vellore, Divya tried her first attempt for civil service and got selected for Indian Revenue Service. While undergoing training Divya tried a second attempt for civil service and succeeded by scorning 48th rank.
