Gurmehar Kaur withdraws from Save DU campaign

Finally, Delhi University student Gurmehar Kaur has withdrawn from the Save DU campaign. She declared her decision on Twitter early Tuesday morning that She is withdrawing from the Save DU Campaign.

“I’m withdrawing from the campaign. Congratulations everyone. I request to be left alone. I said what I had to say,’’ she tweeted.

She had been protesting against student violence on Delhi University campus allegedly by ABVP. Gurmehar Kaur is the daughter of a martyred Indian Army Captain. Her campaign had gone viral on social media as she targeted ABVP, the student wing of RSS.

She was in the eye of storm following her campaign to take on the powerful student organization and her controversial comments against war.

I have been through a lot and this is all my 20 year self could take. The campaign is about students and not about me. Please go to the March in huge numbers. Best of luck-she said.
